Soca and Calypso artist, David Rudder, knows how to charm audiences across the world with his innovative song-writing, lively vocals, and remarkable performances!
David Rudder dominated the 1986 Trinidad Carnival with two big hits "The Hammer" (a tribute to the late steel pan musician Rudolph Charles) and "Bahia Girl". In 1987, he released "Calypso Music", a brilliant encapsulation of the history of calypso. The following year, David Rudder released what is widely considered his best album to date, “Haiti”. This album included hit tracks such as "Engine Room", which captured the energy of the steel band, and "Rally 'Round the West Indies", which became the anthem of West Indies cricket. In 2008, David Rudder collaborated with fellow Trinidadian Machel Montano, on the track "Oil and Music."
Come and be a part of the energy of David Rudder and the Contraband’s performance at the CNE Bandshell on August 28!
