Dr. Roz's Healing Place Victory Over Violence Gala @ This is London, Toronto, ON - Thurs Oct 20th!

As a new event, in its third year, VOV Gala looks forward to becoming a fixture on Toronto’s social event calendar. Guests from the music, art and design, fashion, and corporate communities will enjoy an evening of cocktails, and dancing against the backdrop of installations, spoken word, an amazing silent auction and performances by cutting edge contemporary
Canadian artists.

The evening plays out in two parts; the VIP cocktail reception from 7:30 - 9pm will be comprised of our Executive Director Dr. Roz Roach honoring former residents of the Healing Place who have re-invented their lives and become independent and self-sufficient members of the community. These women will be awarded with a custom designed necklace from local Toronto designer Sally Han and her jewelry line Psalms 91:1.

The VIP reception will be privy to an array of entertainment with the evening being hosted by “one of Canada’s fastest rising black comics” comedian Jason Martin and special performances by spoken word artist Victoria Grant and Juno nominated singer Kim Davis. From 9pm and onwards the night will end with the ultimate After Party

The Cause

This glamorous evening out is designed to raise funds to support the programs at Dr. Roz's Healing Place that help to empower and rebuild the lives of women and their children who are victims and survivors of abuse.

DHRP is a centre for empowerment and healing that works towards the eradication of violence against women and their children locally, nationally and globally. The aim for our Annual Gala is to not only raise funds to sustain the work the centre does for the community but also to support our capital campaign to build The Changa House, a centre for youth
and youth-at-risk.

On Thursday October 20, 2011 our overall mission is to raise awareness and funds for this cause and we hope you will
join us in that mission.
