“Take six African-American women, blend their voices in a mix of gospel, blues and jazz and what you get is Sweet Honey In The Rock.” (NPR) The Grammy Award-winning female a cappella ensemble sings unaccompanied, except for body and hand percussion instruments. Their repertoire is steeped in the sacred music of the Black church, the clarion calls of the civil rights movement, and songs of the struggle for justice everywhere.
