The African Canadian Achievement Awards Gala Ceremony @ Jane Mallet Theatre, St Lawrence Centre for the Arts, Toronto, ON - Sat May 5th!

It’s almost that time again! Pride News Magazine presents the 2012 African Canadian Achievement Awards Gala Ceremony to be held on Saturday, May 5th, 2012 at the Jane Mallet Theatre, inside the St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts, 27 Front St. E, Toronto.

Founded in June, 1985, the African Canadian Achievement Awards (ACAA) recognizes and pays tribute to high-achievers who have excelled in their chosen professions and who have made a significant contribution to the African Canadian Community.

Past ACAA recipients include: Jazz Icon, Oscar Peterson; Hon. Alvin Curling, former Speaker of the Ontario Legislature; Hon. Mary Anne Chambers, former Minister of Colleges and Universities; Donovan Bailey, former World Sprint Champion; Senator Ann Cools; Djanet Sears, Award-Winning Playwright; Hon. Jean Augustine, former Minister of Multiculturalism; First Baptist Church; Salome Bey; and many others.
