Brownman's Birthday Duet w/Adrean Farrugia @ Musideum, Toronto, ON - Sun Dec 2nd!


Sun-Dec-02 (Brown's B-day!), 
"Multi-award-winning jazz trumpet player Brownman Ali, best known for his creatively bombastic & energized playing style, strips down to a bare bones configuration in this new Musideum "+1" series. Sunday's intimate duet show will feature with the Juno-nominated piano veteran ADREAN FARRUGIA. Brown has had a long friendship and musical association with Farrugia, both representing the top-shelf jazz improvisers in the city, both sharing uncanny time-feel sensibilities. Farrugia best expresses this shared rhythmic concept as, "we seem to practice with the same metronome!". This pairing of Ali & Farrugia is a remarkable example of modern jazz interactivity and connectivity at it's finest."
Sunday is also Brownman's birthday, and he'll be turning 25 - again - so come celebrate with us! Post-show (10pm), the MUSIDEUM will be screening a movie - one of Brown's favs (likely "Aliens", but he'll likely decide on the fly). It'll be an intimate post-show hang, open to the public for anyone who wants to stop in, and have a piece of cake - no charge for the movie, just a little Musideum birthday party for one of our biggest supporters.

The BROWNMAN+1 series continues throughout the year at Musideum, each month Brown appearing with 1 other mystery musician -- could be piano, could be bass, could even turntables - who knows! Each duet showcasing Brownman's lesser known introspective & self-reflective playing approach accompanied by a mystery +1 each month.
