On Saturday June 15th, join us at C Lounge as we take you through a vintage inspired mosaic of entertainment. Hosted by the beautiful Amanda Parris, we’ll walk you through the lenses of artists who risked their lives to offer future generations the power to speak through art – with a nod to the 1960’s MOD style era.
We intend to strategically marry the innovative symbols found through vintage art through the inspirations of music and cultural movements spawned by the likes of Sam Cooke, Ella Fitzgerald, Tina Turner, Elis Regina, Aretha Franklin, Dizzy Gillespie, Miles Davis, Amiri Baraka, Nikki Giovanni and John Coltrane. Our mission is to thrust attendees into a historic space filled with both novelty and antiquity and modernize the experience with an afrocentric flare (You know how we do!). Leaning to the iconic fashion eras of vintage 1960′s, our exhibit will boast a multi-generational audience, elaborate event décor, hairstyles, selected art pieces, clothing, and music, while collectively empowering young business owners, up and coming artists, children and community elders.
Doors open at 2PM for vendors presentations, hors d`oeuvres, live art & networking, the live show begins at 4pm.
Location: C Lounge, 456 Wellington Street West, Toronto, ON (West of Spadina)
Tickets: $25 at door
