Following his triumphant appearance with Deltron 3030 at last year’s Luminato Festival, world-renowned, Montreal-based scratch DJ Kid Koala—whose diverse musical history includes tours with Radiohead, the Beastie Boys, and Money Mark—returns with Space Cadet, a late-night, “quiet time” immersive headphone experience based on his second graphic novel. Dubbed “a triumph of whimsy” by Spin magazine, the audience sits in inflatable space pods, listening through individual headphone systems as Kid Koala brings his Space Cadet score to life on a piano and several turntables, accompanied by delicate animations inspired by his book. Through a special collaboration with International Flavors and Fragrances Inc., the world’s foremost experts in the art of perfumery, Kid Koala will also, for the first time ever, add custom scents to the experience, making it a true feast for all the senses, suitable for all ages.
