Described by the Village Voice as “the missing link between Public Enemy and Louis Armstrong,” the unique, brassy sound of the 8-member Soul Rebels emerged in the early 1990s when cofounders Lumar LeBlanc and Derrick Moss pioneered the idea of marrying traditional New Orleans jazz with contemporary pop and hip-hop.
