SAT JULY 12TH
ZIMZUM
ZIMZUMS' INFLUENCES START WITH THE MELODIC JAZZ FUNK OF WEATHER REPORT, SPIROGYRA AND PAT METHENY. COMBINING THE JOY OF THAT MUSIC WITH A HARDER EDGE INFLUENCED BY THE MODAL EXPLORATIONS OF COLTRANE, HERBIE HANCOCK AND DAVE HOLLAND GIVES THEM THE FREEDOM TO DELVE DEEPER INTO THEIR OWN MUSICAL JOURNEYS.

MADETTE

MADETTE IS A MULTIFACETED ARTIST FROM TORONTO; BORN IN THE PHILIPPINES. HER SOUND IS BEST DESCRIBED AS "RUGGED, SMOOTH, ORGANIC SOUL" WITH THE INFLUENCES OF MICHAEL JACKSON, SADE AND LAURYN HILL.

GROWING UP, MADETTE SUFFERED FROM DEPRESSION, SELF-HATRED & LOW SELF-ESTEEM WHICH PREVENTED HER FROM PURSUING MUSIC AND THE PERFORMING ARTS. DURING A RECENT LIFE-CHANGING EXPERIENCE, SHE WAS STRUCK WITH THE REALIZATION THAT MUSIC, WRITING AND PERFORMING ARE HER CALLING.

NOW WITH HER FEARLESS ATTITUDE, MADETTE IS REVEALING HER PRESENCE TO THE PUBLIC. AS A PERSON AND ARTIST, HER HOPE IS TO UPLIFT PEOPLE THROUGH MUSIC, POETRY & POSITIVE MESSAGES.
