Toronto promoter Michael Charles passed away peacefully in his home on Friday November 21, 2014 after a two year battle with GIST, a rare form of stomach cancer.
Michael was the consummate professional, known for producing large scale Urban stage plays and promoting club events. He was meticulous, extremely hardworking and well loved by the Black community.
Over the two year period of his illness, the costs of receiving treatment skyrocketed into the tens of thousands, prompting friends and supporters to organize a fundraiser in January 2013. Unfortunately those costs resumed after his relapse in of Spring 2014.
It will be a night to reflect, remember and pay tribute to Michael Charles.
