Ruth Mathiang has quickly become one of the rising stars of African music in Toronto. She comes from a musical family, where both her parents were musicians in their youth. She started her musical career in Kenya performing at social functions and local clubs. Mathiang honed her singing and composing skills by performing with local musicians and adopting various styles from traditional music, gospel, Afropop reggae, and hip-hop.

Feeling the One Drop from Toronto, Ontario is known for keeping audiences dancing with their uplifting reggae fusion sound, and high energy live performances. Inspired by the vocal stylings of Amy Winehouse, Fugees, and the Roots driven by the rhythms and grooves from Bob Marley and the Wailers, Toots and the Maytals, and Sly and Robbie. Members of One Drop have experience performing live on both a national and international stage. They perform regularly in and around Toronto.

Based out of Toronto the trio breathes the spirit of such greats as Bud Powell, Augustus Pablo, Ernest Ranglin, Lenny Breau, King Tubby, and Leroy ‘Horsemouth Wallace,’ to create a world of shimmering delays, improvisations and the heaviest Canadian drum and bass rhythm duo of the Rattos Brothers. In their first full year together of 2015, the Chronicles toured their ‘Chapter 1’ EP in clubs and festivals across the GTA, received international airplay, and shared the stage Canadian legends Messenjah.
