Join us as Kuumba 2016 celebrates and honours Black History Month at Harbourfront Centre.
From February 5–7 Kuumba 2016 explores the theme of “Black Like We” through music, discussion, comedy, dance and family activities for all ages.
Highlights include:
A spoken word performance by Jalal Nuriddin, a founding member of The Last Poets, panels moderated by journalist and activist Desmond Cole and a special musical performance honouring Toronto's first lady of hip-hop, Michie Mee.
Building on over 20 years of tradition, Kuumba has sparked discourse and conversation around current and historical debates within the African-Canadian community.
