FRIDAY APRIL 22ND
ALISSA VOX
If a jazz diva from the '20s was reincarnated into an indie looping songstress, it would be Alissa Vox Raw
Often with no more than a loop pedal and her voice Alissa Vox RAW creates rich tapestries of sound from a multitude of interlocking harmonic parts sung live and interwoven together to create full music beds. Old styles of soul, doo-wop and blues with an indie, contemporary twist are reinterpreted through new technologies. A variety of other instruments (i.e. mbira, guitar, synth, and percussion) are also sometimes used and expressed in new ways to create a unique sound that is both edgy and ethereal.
7:30PM - 11:00PM
SATURDAY APRIL 23RD
Gib&Tam
Inspired by The Most High, faith and truth, Gib&Tam create what they call REOUL, a style that gestures Reggae, Soul and Blues. These two powerful voices soar above a howling guitar and feisty tambourine. Playing original songs that explore their spirituality along with selected covers, vibrating on the frequency where A=432hz. Their lyrics are uncompromising, revealing, vulnerable yet brave. Delivered boldly with passion and raw emotion. The duo's organic yet electric blend is truly an intriguing musical experience.
"Music does not come from us, it comes from the Creator, we are just the vessels for it."
