BOOGIE, groove and get those dancin’ shoes on! Toronto is in for a treat as CJRU 1280 AM, Antilles Entertainment & Perle Noire Entertainment bring you the inaugural Toronto Funk and Soul Festival, Saturday June 4th at The Smiling Buddha, 961 College/Dovercourt.
It’s part fundraiser for CJRU 1280 AM, the newest station on the AM dial, and will feature a number of Toronto’s finest groove specialists! Including performances by Sharon Musgrave, Maiko Watson, Junior Whisper, Super L & The Generation Funk Band alongside mix masters DJs K-Smooth & G-Nice who will end the night spinning popular song classics like Chic’s – I Want Your Love, Donna Summer’s – Bad Girls, Rick James’ – Super Freak and more!
Feel the free spirit of the 70’s and dress in your bellbottoms, wear your afros, wide collars and platforms shoes - if you want to - all the while dancing down the Soul Train line!!! Expect the dance floor to be hoppin’ while the DJs tear the roof off the mutha - Yah, you know the words to that song!
