Film Screening: Queen Nanny: Legendary Maroon Chieftainess @ Harbourfront Centre, Toronto, ON - Sat Jul 30th!
This documentary film sheds light on Queen Nanny of the Jamaican Maroons – one of the most celebrated but least recognized figures in the history of resistance in the New World. Brother Oji will introduce the movie and moderate the Q&A after the screening.
A message from Roy T. Anderson:
Hello my Friends,
Hope you're having a great summer! If you have not yet had a chance to see my latest docu-film on Jamaica's only female National Hero, I invite you to check it out this Saturday 7 pm at Harbourfront Centre's Studio Theatre (235 Queens Quay West). If you have seen it, please spread the word. It's part of the Annual Island Soul Festival. There will be live musical performances after the film's screening, as well as an after party that goes until 3 am.
There's a good chance I may be there.
Stay cool,
Roy
P.S. "Queen Nanny" will also screen at Jamaica House @ the Rio Olympics (August 10-21). Thanks for your support.
