Brownman Love Quartet Valentine's Day Concert @ May Cafe, Toronto, ON - Tues Feb 14th!

Celebrate Valentine's Day at Toronto's May Cafe with acclaimed jazz trumpet player Brownman Ali performing only tunes with the word “love” in the title. May Cafe’s usual Vietnamese Tapas menu will be in effect to accompany a feature concert by the BROWNMAN LOVE QUARTET which will showcase Brown teamed with an all-star cast of some of the finest young musicians in the city including Nick Maclean on piano, Julian Anderson Bowes on bass (subbing for Jesse Dietschi) and Steve Farrugia on drums (subbing for Tyler Goertzen). Recently touring Hawaii as a featured soloist, when not performing with Browntasauras Records artists, he is widely known for his bombastic and energized playing style. BUT this is a rare opportunity to see the softer side of Brownman Ali’s abilities this Valentine's Day, as this foursome explore some of the most delicious love-standards in jazz history, playing only tunes with the word "love" in it's title and emphasizing his dark-toned flugelhorn skills. Expect to hear Cole Porter's "Love for Sale" & "I Love You", Jimmy Davis' "Lover Man", Isham Jones' "There Is No Greater Love" and Jimmy Van Heusen's "Like Someone In Love" amongst a long list of classics.
