Our good friend Kardinal Offishall joins us for a special 35mm screening of Spike Lee's epic biopic of the controversial civil rights activist. ✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿
Following Malcolm X's (Denzel Washington) conversion from street hustler to fiery street-corner activist, through his break with the Black Muslims and journey to Mecca — where he begins to ameliorate his former separatist views and see the potential for reconciliation between black and white — Malcolm X is "one of the great screen biographies" (Roger Ebert).
Kardinal's introduction and post-screening discussion will cover many pivotal themes and issues presented in the film to explore how and why they are still relevant and meaningful today.
