The dance party starts early at Lula every Friday with live music from Cuba, Brazil, New Orleans and other warmer climes. Uruguayan-born singer/songwriter Valeria Matzner releases her debut solo album Anima on the Triplet Records label as part of the 2018 Lulaworld Festival. Matzner’s music incorporates the rhythms and melodies of her native South America, from Brazilian samba and bossa nova, to tango and Uruguayan African-infused Candombe.
Free admission before 8:00 pm. $15 after 8:00 pm. Admission includes salsa lesson at 9:00 pm and live salsa at 10:15 pm.
