After Wednesday night's impressive 89-82 Toronto Raptor defeat over the Detroit Pistons at the Air Canada Centre, Chris Bosh spent time speaking to some young fans from Tropicana Community Organization's Scarborough Youth Resource Centre (SYRC).
The SYRC is a drop-in centre located in the Scarborough Town Centre mall and provides resources, activities and programs geared to youth between the ages of 12 & 24.
The very excited group were participants in a month-long contest where they were encouraged to write a short essay, poem or rap about what Black History Month meant to them.
For some of them, this was their first time going to a game, so the experience was such a thrill. With great seats behind the net, they managed to be featured three times on the giant Jumbo Tron. Plus, before the game, they received a generous gift bag of goodies including Adidas t-shirts and key chains. To top it off, they were invited to a meet and greet with Bosh after the game where they received more prizes for knowing Raptors trivia and the opportunity to ask Bosh questions about his life and career. Bosh mentioned that if he hadn't chosen a career in basketball, he would have probably ended up in the computer field, possibly as a Web Designer.

This incredible night out was made possible by the very kind-hearted Events Specialist, Eddie "Go To Man" Williams of Party People Productions. Williams has been very active in planning events and developing Toronto's Urban Entertainment scene for decades and supports many charitable organizations.
