Very Sad News: Haydain Neale of Jacksoul Has Died
R.I.P. Haydain Neale
The music industry is mourning the loss of the very incredibly talented, Juno Award winning Artist and Jacksoul frontman, Haydain Neale, who passed away yesterday as a result of lung cancer.
In August 3, 2007, Neale, a Hamilton, Ontario native was on his scooter and collided with a vehicle in Scarborough, Ontario, east of Toronto. His was in a coma following the accident.
Jacksoul, has been instrumental in shaping the Canadian Soul, R&B and jazz scene for many years, winning a Juno award for R&B/Soul Recording of the Year in 2001 and 2007 and Canadian Urban Music award in 2004.
This past October, Jacksoul, announced December 1st as the new release for the group's first album in three years, called SOULmate, and containing 10 new songs written before the singer's accident in 2007. The first single, Lonesome Highway, was made available on November 3rd, 2009. All profits from the album will go to the Haydain Neale Family Trust.
