For its 37th edition, the
Carifiesta’s immensely colourful parade will take over the streets of
the Montreal downtown area. More than 250,000 people are expected to
attend this annual carnival which gathers people of all origins in the
expression of the joy and lightheartedness associated to the Caribbean
people. Starting at Noon, the participants and spectators will vibrate
and dance to the rhythm of the Latin, West-Indian and afro-caribbean
music. The parade will include floats decorated with the colors of the
countries being represented, as well as traditional dances, exotic and
picturesque costumes worn by the Carifiesta masqueraders.
