Check in at Scarborough Museum in Thomson Memorial Park. 1007 Brimley Rd., Toronto, ON
A parade and performance of Pan American dance and music led by Ballet Creole. Featuring Samba Squad, Wheel Dance, Social Circus, Main Street Dance Studio, the Scarborough Museum, TRCA, members of the Ontario Steelpan Association and a Parapan activity station.
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
1:00pm
-Steelpan drummers begin to play at Thomson Memorial Park
- Parapan try a sport activities begin for the public
- Parade leaves from Bendale Public School and moves down the path towards Thomson Memorial Park. Performers include talent from Ballet Creole, Samba Squad, the Ontario Steelpan Association and the Social Circus Group.
1:20pm
- Parade arrives at Thomson Memorial Park
1:20 – 1:40pm
- Parade moves throughout Thomson Memorial Park
1:40 – 1:45pm
- Parade stops in front of Wheelchair dances in the parking lot in front of the info tents for a brief 3 minute performance
1:45 – 1:50pm
- Parade and flashmob dancers move towards to performance area where speeches will begin.
1:50 – 2:00 pm
- Speeches to inaugurate the event.
2:00 – 3:15pm
- Performances by Ballet Creole, Samba Squad, Ontario Steelpan Association and Social Circus Group
3:00pm
- Free ice cream to the first 100 people courtesy of Toronto Pearson.
3:15 – 4:00pm
- Interactive TRCA Watershed demonstrations. - Performances by Main Street Dance Studio.
- Time to interact with performers and participate in Parapan sporting activities.
3:30 – 4:00pm and onward
- Discover the Scarborough Museum through multiple family friendly activities including a taste test of historic cuisine.
- Parapan Am Activity Station
Includes sitting volleyball, bocce ball, and stationary bicycles
Social Circus Group will have circus buskers and jugglers performing throughout the day.
