Writing While Black @ Harlem Restaurant, Toronto, ON - Tues Dec 13th!
WRITING WHILE BLACK
TUESDAY DECEMBER 13th |
Back and bolder than ever, Writing While Black is here again to warm up your fingers from the cold and get you writing this December. This time around, we say so long to 2016 and look foreword to what the new year has in store for our lives and our writing.
Already chosen a new year’s resolution? Hope it includes a facelift for your writing! Let’s dig into our aspirations for our work and see where we can grow. We’ll be asking ourselves the tough questions about what limitations we put on ourselves as writers and how we can break into a fresh, new view of our writing. If reinventions suits you, come through!
Writing While Black is a community centre, people-powered workshop series is tailored to black writers at all stages of their writing journey (beginner, emerging, mid-career, established) writing in any genre or discipline (fiction, non-fiction, poetry, journalism, dramatic writing, spoken word etc.). The main goal of the workshops is to create a safe space and develop a community of black writers who can provide support to one another's artistic projects.
Through dialogue, discussion, readings and writing exercises, we will support one another in the space and offer feedback on our upcoming writings. Even if you don't "think" you're a writer, come through!
Location: Harlem Restaurant, 67 Richmond St East, Toronto, ON
