Black Community Conversation on Education @ TAIBU Community Health Centre, Scarborough, ON - Tues Nov 12th!
A community dialogue pertaining to the education cuts specifically in regards to the city's Black community.
At this event, we hope to hear from Black community members on the impact of Anti-Black Racism on the education of Black students and on the involvement of their parents/guardians.
During the first half, we will have opening remarks, followed by a panel of speakers. During the second half, community members will engage in small group discussions in order to share their perspectives on ways to improve the education system to support Black students. Throughout the session, we will prioritize the sharing of information about current initiatives led by members of the Black community seeking to reduce inequities within the education system. By the end of the gathering, we will develop a road map and an action plan that supports the inclusion and achievement of Black students and the engagement of their parents/guardians.
