Jamie Foxx Rocks The Sound Academy on "Blame It" Tour - Toronto, ON
Academy Award Winning Actor, Comedian and R&B star Jamie Foxx, aka Eric Bishop, made a northern stop on his "Blame It" Tour at Toronto's Sound Academy complex on August 11th. Foxx, 41, has been promoting his latest recording project and third studio album, Intuition, which is now certified platinum in the U.S. selling over 1,000,000 copies.
Toronto natives R&B Artist, Kim Davis and Comedian Jay Martin opened the show while newly signed Actor-turned-Rapper, Aubrey "Drake" Graham made a special on-stage appearance to sing his #1 chart-topper, "Best I Ever Had." Drake, visibly limping and on crutches from a fall a couple of weeks ago, recently made headlines after a label-signing bidding war which eventially landed him on Rap Star Lil Wayne's Young Money Entertainment label. His debut album is due out later this year.
Foxx, who is signed to J Records, entertained the audience for about 1 1/2 hours with songs from his current album including the currently undisputed club anthem "Blame It" and several others from his 2005 album, Unpredictable. He also took time out of the show to promote and preview his upcoming new comedic film, "Skank Robbers" which will see him dress up as his 90's television show "In Living Colour" character "Wanda," teaming up with Actor/Comedian Martin Lawrence's "Sheneneh" character. The film is due out next year.
After the show, Foxx was spotted chatting with several media outlets and meeting and greeting fans at an afterparty at the C Lounge, in the city's downtown core.
