Canadian Artists Shine at UMAC's Urban X-Posure, Harbourfront, Toronto, ON - 02/13/09
Champion Beatboxer, Scott Jackson, made a special guest appearance during the UMAC, Urban Music Association of Canada's Urban X-Posure "SoWhatChaSayin'?" youth rountable and artist showcase at the Harbourfront Centre in Toronto last Saturday afternoon.
Focusing on social change through music and spoken word was the message behind the event and youth members of key organizations such as Life Movement and the creators of the Manifesto festival were in attendance along with budding artists and industry members.
The event, which was part of Harbourfront Centre's Kuumba Festival celebrating Black History Month, featured performances from local Toronto Artists, T-West and J. Moy and Ottawa's own, The Recipe, who were finalists from hundreds of submissions across Canada.
All of the finalists went home with cash and prizes from sponsors including the
The Michael Pinball Clemons Foundation, Flud Watches, Ian Peters Agency, RocaWear Canada/IDR Agency and Spice-It-Up World.
UMAC is the voice of Canada's urban music industry. It is a member-driven, non-profit organization dedicated to building the domestic and international profile of Canadian urban music.
Look out for performances from these artists coming soon on the UMAC site at http://www.umacunited.com.
