The
purpose of Carifest is to foster the Canadian-Caribbean culture in the
Greater Toronto Area by promoting culture, history, food, islands and
people. This one night event offers an evening of culture, comedy, music, instrument and dance talent from local and international artists. This year we have as our line up of entertainers: The Mighty Sparrow (international calypso artist), Calypso Rose (international gospelypso artist), Kay Morris (reggeagospel artist), Joy Lapps (steel pannist), Marcia Brown (comedian/play writer) and others. Proceeds from event will go towards Camp Jumo (www.jumoke.org) helping to send children afflicted with Sickle Cell Disease to specialized camps this summer. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
