The Board of the Hoops for Hope Celebrity Charity Basketball Event
would like to extend an invitation to you for your participation in this
year’s event, which will take place on Saturday, August 25th, 2012 from
12pm-7pm at Ryerson University, Toronto, Canada
The Mission of Hoops for Hope is to empower GTA Youth with
the knowledge and skills through collective event sports. This provides
a platform to strengthen self awareness and community issues through
ongoing project development and infusion of resources into needed
proactive community programming. The 2nd Hoops for Hope
Celebrity Charity Basketball Event serves two purposes – to offer a fun
and fabulous day where kids, families and basketball enthusiasts can
come together to celebrate their love of the sport, and also to Raise funds and awareness for Youth Assisting Youth -
The Peer Project and to support the Hoops for Hope Athletic Awards Program.
This year’s event will feature professional athletes, Olympians, media
celebrities, and industry leaders in entertainment & business. Our
half time show will feature Canada’s first lady of hip hop - Michie Mee and the Professional Dance Company - Artists in Motion.
The day will consist of an outdoor fun-fest, 3-point shooting
contests, slam dunk competition, incredible raffles, spectacular live
performances, key note speakers, face-painting, arts & crafts for
the kids, nutritious food and of course, the main event -the celebrity
basketball game.
