Feel Reggae Seminar @ The Boxing Loft, Toronto, ON - Sat Apr 28th!
Feel Reggae Workshop
"We don't teach reggae. We invite you if you already feel it."
If you are in a band or not, if you are a serious musician or not it is about a "feel"
In order to play reggae music, you have to feel it! It cannot be taught! We will improve your feel through practical application playing with a full band (drum, bass, guitar and keys).
If you have always wished to ask someone how to play that riff, or keep the rhythm, or the timing and flow of the music, compose your own reggae track or just to join a jam session, all are welcome!
Band, musical composition, Selecta and DJs, the culture of reggae, the feel of reggae, reggae history...
Reggae music is always an intrigue based on the warm feel of the music and though it seems like a simple sound, it is quite complex and this music is played more by feel than my learning musical notes and arrangements. Yes there are notes, cord changes, bridges, bass, treble, intro and outros the music needs a certain “feel” to make it sound like reggae.
It is said that many musicians from other genre have tried to play reggae and find that it neither sounds or feels the same as the record or other reggae that they have listened to and have no one to turn to for insight as to why what they may be doing does not work. If you “feel” it, we can improve that “feel” yet we cannot teach you
As with martial arts from the orient which is always an oriental feel no matter where it is taught or displayed, reggae from Jamaica is an art form that has deep history and “feel” and felt by all nations worldwide
We answer the questions about this music that you can’t find anywhere else
Who is eligible?
Everyone!
We’ll make time for the little ones, the teenagers, adults, seniors
All who wish to play reggae music
