The 2012 Calypso Stars special guest is Alexander D Great, a calypso master, recording artist, teacher, writer and winner of the Association of British Calypsonian (ABC) calypso monarch title in 2010 and 2011.
Also included in this family programme is a virtuoso steelpannist, carnival characters on stilts called moko jumbies, traditional Caribbean drumming and the limbo dance from Trinidad.
The house band is award-winning arranger/producer Ossie Gurley & The Truth. Gurley is the man behind smash soca hits such as "Who Let The Dogs Out?," "Moving To The Left" and "Follow The Leader."
