Manifesto & Cultural Hotspot: In Conversation w/hustleGRL and Tika Simone @ Madhus Cafe, Toronto, ON - Sun Jun 1st!

Manifesto presents
NEXT: Cultural Hotspot "In Conversation with..." Session #2

From May to October 2014, the Cultural Hotspot Project shines a spotlight on Hotspot East - south Scarborough, bordered by Lawrence Avenue East south to the lake, Victoria Park Avenue east to Highland Creek Village. This Hotspot is home to a diverse cultural scene, engaged community, growing economy, green spaces and unique local history. The program will bring cultural activities, art interventions, development opportunities and legacy projects to the Hotspot neighbourhoods. With an emphasis on youth mentorship and employment, business engagement, community building and artistic excellence, the project seeks to draw new attention to the Hotspot area.

NEXT is a youth-led initiative that will see local youth from inner suburban neighbourhoods organize and lead an entertainment showcase, workshops and lectures highlighting the next generation of emerging young artists. This project is in partnership with Manifesto Community Projects and UNITY Charity.

Manifesto will presents their ongoing “In Conversation with…” series as their programming contribution to the NEXT initiative. These entertaining and informative sessions present unique one-on-one conversations with respected artists and community members. The conversations offer a rare opportunity to go beyond the quotes and performances to facilitate intimate and interactive dialogues with artists, activists, and public figures that offer a perspective that embodies the spirit and values of Manifesto.

In Conversation with young web and social media wiz hustleGRL, which will be hosted by event producer and media personality Tika Simone of Known Unknown.
