Cytopoetics is pleased to announce the fourth instalment of ARTiculated Noise! The series takes place at 8pm on the third Wednesday of every month. The purpose of ARTnoise is to provide Toronto with an open mic event that caters specifically to those who predominantly engage in performance poetry.
Bring your poems to share on the open mic in the first half and then check out 2014 Burlington Slam Project Grand Champion Dan Murray in the second half!
ARTiculated Noise is a proud member of the Southwestern Ontario Spoken Word Circuit and graciously acknowledges the financial support of the Canada Council for the Arts for the SOSWC.
ABOUT OUR FEATURE
Dan Murray is the result of a long-abandoned Government experiment - the goal of which was to determine the ongoing effects of suburban life on a depressive linguophile with a knack for re-quoting Monty Python skits and a strange obsession with progressive rock. The result is a silly kind of bored anger, but made to sound far more intellectual than is necessary. He also does music.
He has been a member of the Burlington Slam Project's national team twice, competing in Toronto, Saskatoon, and Charlotte, NC - and was most recently a member of the nearly-notorious We Flip Tables! team, competing in Montreal. His solo music lays stagnant in the land of "too good for human consumption" - though his band - The Great Lakes Privateers have been enjoying a very quick rise in awareness through the Hamilton-Halton regions.
Taylor Mali remains unimpressed.
