For 23 years, the Randolph Academy for the Performing Arts (RAPA) has been training Triple Threat talent for the arts and entertainment industry-performers whose names appear (or will appear) on your rosters or cast lists. RAPA is proud to be a significant contributor to Canada's artistic community, and our reputation is growing. Recently, we came to the attention of Pauletta Washington, a spectacular performer who also happens to be the wife of actor Denzel Washington. Ms. Washington has generously offered to present a benefit concert for the Academy in September 2015. We hope we can count on your support of this fundraiser to assist the Academy in continuing to train Canada's leading talent.
On September 13 and 14, Pauletta Washingtonreturns to Toronto after her sold out concert last fall, with a new show CHRONICLE. CHRONICLE is a 70-minute show featuring song, spoken word and world music, combined with multimedia elements on a 30-foot curved screen. Repertoire includes reworkings of classic rock and soul, together with reinventions of historically significant works from Ukrainian Kobzars, the Afghanistan Civil War and the Uzbekistan vanished courts -- music deemed worthy of protection by the UNESCO Convention for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage. Washington performs with Mamazband, a musical United Nations playing instruments from around the world, led by the legendary Diane Louie.
CHRONICLE takes place in the Randolph Theatre, 736 Bathurst Street, Toronto, ON.
Time: 7:00pm
Tickets are $50 each (including all fees and taxes) and available by clicking here or calling 1-855-985-2787.
All ticket proceeds benefit the Randolph Academy for the Performing Arts.
A ticket purchase represents an investment in the creative life not only of Toronto, but also of Canada. Not only is RAPA training talent for the industry and employing arts practitioners, but in the years to come, RAPA has also committed to creating new musical theatre works. Support of the Academy also means ensuring that 736 Bathurst -- home to the former Bathurst Street Theatre, which holds a significant place in the memories of many who have made the arts their life and livelihood -- continues to be a hub of creation, passion and promise in this country.
Please consider supporting the future of the Randolph Academy with a ticket purchase to a truly inspiring event. We appreciate any support you can offer.
I look forward to seeing you at CHRONICLE.
