Opening Reception - Journey to Black Liberation Symposium @ Marilyn Brewer Community Space, Harbourfront Centre, Toronto, ON - Fri Feb 9th!
Part of the Journey to Black Liberation Symposium.
Join us for the opening of the Journey to Black Liberation Symposium, and photography exhibit, I Am For You Can Enjoy. This is the first exhibit of this work outside the UK, and will also feature images from a new work-in-progress, Fierce Toronto.
Curator Brandon Hay, Founder of The Black Daddies Club, UK-based photographers Ajamu and Khalil West, and Harbourfront Centre, will provide opening remarks.
Immediately following the reception, join Michael Roberson Maasai Milan for his lecture The Trans Sounds of Liberation.

Through photography and video, Khalil West and Ajamu explore race, visibility, (gay) respectability politics, sexual agency, commodity, pleasure and liberation, by documenting through portraiture a counter-narrative to traditional products of erotic labour and conceptions of queer Black men and sex workers.
