106 & York Urban Arts Festival @ York Woods Library, Toronto, ON - Sat Sept 14th!

106 & York Urban Arts Festival

In it's 6th year running, 106 & York Urban Arts Festival performers discovered across the city will step to the stage to give the audience a taste of their talent. Known for being the outlet for many talented Toronto youth, 106 & York has spent the last year becoming even more focused on discovering talented young people across the city, and more specifically in the North West Toronto area. visiting local high schools and holding public mall auditions. This year's show emphasizes a whole new level of community outreach and a new array of talent. Artists are working together alongside carefully selected mentors to create not just a show, but a production. From rappers to singers to dancers and so much more the show is bound to captivate the audience.

Hosted by Femi Lawson alongside the video submission winning guest host, the audience is sure to be entertained. Please come out and join us for this year's 106 & York Festival taking place on Saturday September 14th inside York Woods’ “Theatre at the York Woods' Library.

Doors open at 5pm.

Cover is $10 at the door or $5 with a non-perishable food donation.

106 and York UrbanArts Youth Festival @ York Woods Theatre, Toronto, ON - Fri Aug 31st!

On Friday August 31st, 106 and York UrbanArts Youth Festival will celebrate 5 years of bringing together the city's top artists on stage.  Headliners for this year’s events include JD Era, (protege of the legendary Raekwon), Juno-nominated Producer/MC Rich Kidd, one of Toronto’s most exciting new vocalists, Shi Wisdom, lyrical master Jelly TooFly, and many more.

Doors open at 4 
Show Starts at 6pm
Cover: $5 at the Door
York Woods Theater - 1785 Finch Avenue West  
Performers include JD Era, Rich Kidd, Shi Wisdom, Jelly TooFly, JD Keyz, theatre group, Nomanzland, an appearance by the Sweetie Piez dance crew, and more!
Also includes a Hot 16s Cypher, featuring Peter Jackson, Lola Bunz, Church Chizzle, Kamikaze and Gramz G 
All-Ages/Families Welcome
From 4-6pm the event will host outdoor kids activities running in collaboration with the Pan American Games. It will include face painting, and an inflatable basketball and archery station.
In addition to performances, community merchandise/info tables allow local organizations and entrepreneurs to get involved by displaying information about their group.  Some of the groups represented at our festival are: Urbanology Magazine, HipHopCanada.com, Stolen from Africa, and other vendors will be selling their art and merchandise, so please feel free to bring the family to enjoy the entertainment, and support this all ages event.

 106 and York is a youth-led collaborative that supports youth in the urban arts through various initiatives. This multi-disciplinary youth urban arts festival is proudly presented in collaboration with other youth-led organizations such as Highclass and N.I.S.E. Clothing and larger organizations such as UrbanArts and Manifesto
