CELEBRITY CHEF - MEN WHO COOK - 17TH ANNUAL

Celebrity Chef - Men Who Cook, a special fund-raising event hosted by the United Achievers’ Club of Brampton, takes place on SATURDAY, MARCH 23, 2013 in the AUDITORIUM – Century Gardens Recreation Centre, 340 Vodden Street East, Brampton.

The event starts at 6:00 PM (social hour and entertainment), 7:00 PM (food sampling), and 10:00 PM (After Party).

The ticket cost of $45 includes seven (7) sample tickets, entertainment, door prizes and After Party.

DJ for the event is the very popular DJ Glen C (http://www.djglenc.com/).

Funds will go to benefit the care of paediatric patients living with Sickle Cell Disease at the Brampton Civic Hospital, as well as help provide scholarships for college-bound high-school graduates of Black or Caribbean heritage.  The UAC has been serving the community with “pride and dignity” since 1980.

Join NOW Drinks columnist Graham Duncan in conversation with Rob Rainford, a professionally-trained Canadian chef, host of License To Grill and author of the The Rainford Method of grilling, as they talk about Rainford's Born To Grill: Over 100 Recipes from My Backyard to Yours.

Rainford was born in Jamaica and grew up in downtown Toronto, surrounded by the smells of sizzling grills. He graduated from George Brown College and his professional career has taken him all over the world. Rainford was host of the wildly popular Food Network TV show, License to Grill (which aired in Canada, the USA, Australia, Africa and Asia) and has spent the last two years perfecting his signature style, The Rainford Method, unveiled in his book.

Rainford has always loved mastering the challenges that unravel when working with a wider variety of foods, but his one true love has always been the grill. Chef Rainford will be cooking up one of the recipes from his new book to share with the audience and will show us why he was Born to Grill!
