Polish representative to attend TMC Gala

Vice Consul General to be honoured guest at Toronto Mass Choir gala event

Toronto Mass Choir is pleased to announce that Polish Vice Consul General Oanna Matyjasiak and her husband will be honoured guests at their second annual fundraising gala. The gala is taking place at the Crown Plaza Don Valley Hotel, 1250 Eglinton Ave. E. on November 6th, 2009 at 7pm, with doors opening at 6pm.

“It really is a thrill to be able to welcome Poland to our event since we performed in Poland last year,” says TMC Director Karen Burke. “Everyone had such a wonderful time. Poland is such a beautiful country and we were made to feel very welcome. So for us, it’s a chance to say thank you to the Polish people and relive some great memories.”

The theme of this year’s gala is “Freedom” and the night will allow gospel music enthusiasts to celebrate and support the ministry of TMC and its 21-year history in Canada. Performing in special music collaborations, TMC welcomes spoken-word artist, Amani, and gospel trumpet player, Dave Brown, along with a line-up of special guests including local and international officials and radio and television personalities.

TMC is one of Canada’s longest serving and most successful gospel music choirs, having performed in Canada, the United States, and the Caribbean. They have also visited Europe, including Poland in May 2008 where they performed for more than 8000 people.

TMC BACKGROUND INFORMATION

TMC has been a special guest at countless church services, festivals, award shows and venues including The Ottawa Bluesfest, Toronto Jazz Festival, Canadian National Exhibition, the Empire Cub of Canada, and Roy Thompson Hall with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra. TMC has also appeared with renowned gospel and jazz singers such as Tramaine Hawkins, Alvin Slaughter, Take 6, Jane Bunnett and Jon Hendricks.
