Bill Brown's 1-2-3 Slam Canadian Indies Qualifier ft. Ritallin @ Measure, Toronto, ON - Wed Jan 15th!

For the second time, BB123 Slam will send a representative to the Canadian Individual Poetry Slam in Vancouver this April! Poets perform 1-minute, 2-minute, 3-minute AND 4-minute poems with the winner claiming a trip west for the national indie slam!

Last year's CIPS rep, Dwayne Morgan, finished third in the nation. How will Bill Brown do this time around?

The 2014 BB123 Slam Team will be selected next May. Who will make it to the final slam next spring? This is the fourth step along the journey (as scores will count in the regular season rankings). See you there!

FORMAT

There will be an open sign-up for competitors. The rounds will go as follows:

Round 1 - 12 poets spit 2-minute poems
Round 2 - 8 poets recite 3-minute poems
Round 3 - 6 poets share 1-minute poems
Round 4 - 4 poets slam 4-minute poems

Rounds are clean slate (scores do not carry over from round to round). Top poet in the final round wins the CIPS spot. Proceeds from the night will be donated to the winner to help with travel costs. Slammers MUST be able to travel to Vancouver to compete at CIPS on April 9-12. CIPS is part of the Verses Festival of Words, produced by the Vancouver Poetry House.

Cytopoetics and Bill Brown's 1-2-3 Slam Toronto acknowledge the generous financial support of the Canada Council for the Arts.

... and if you don't know who Bill Brown is, you better ask somebody!
