This months comedians are
Amani
Amani is a multi-disciplinary artist known for her spoken word, arts education work producing and directing but she also does COMEDY! …She got her start doing comedy with her One Woman Shows – “I;m Just Sittin At the Derby Waiting For My Ship To Come In” and “Waiting To Explode!” She’s new to stand up but not new to the stage. Her new play She Said/He Said a painful and comedic look at Black Love in Toronto will have its debut in April at the MAI in Montreal as part of Black Theatre Workshop’s Main Season.
Crystal Ferrier is a hot, multi-talented and edgy artist. She is a graduate from York University obtaining a degree in Sociology as well as Theatre Studies. A jack-of-all-trades, Crystal is an actress, comedian, model, writer and producer. She has been on stages all over the world including Caroline’s on Broadway, The Comedy Store in
Mumbai & YukYuks all over Canada
Aisha Brown
This comedian is making a name for herself in the Toronto comedy scene, hosting and producing comedy shows. she made her debut at the funny bone in NY and killed it for our Zabrina presents:Things Black Girls Say tour. She is also a regular at the Nubian show and kills it every time.
Aaron Lewin
Produces major shows. has headlined packed houses and has shared the stage with top comedians.
Jhannelle Dennis
This Comedian has been busy producing a couple of successful shows around the GTA. she also produces a funny podcast and album coming out called Runnin' At The Mouth...She tours all over and has been killin it on stages everywhere!!!!
Ify Chiwetelu
This new Talent will be gracing our stage performing this month. she has been killing it all over toronto. cant wait to see her tonight!
Malaika Bryce is an illustrious Award-winning Comedian, nominated Actress, Producer, Master of Ceremonies, and founder of Senorita Productions. Born in the robust, multicultural city of Toronto, Canada her passion to engage with the world one audience at a time sparked her rising dynamic career entertaining home and abroad.
And your headliner for the evening...
Hoodo Hersi is a promising Toronto-based comedian, having performed on prestigious shows including The Nubian Disciples of Pryor at Yuk Yuks. She was also nominated for the Tim Sims Encouragement Fund at Second City, taped her first TV comedy special for No Kidding and was a member on the panel for The Inside Joke (both of which aired in 2014 on iChannel). Hoodo had the great fortune of opening up for author/comedian Moshe Kasher, Hari Kondabolou, Gina Yashere, Eric Andre, Jermaine Fowler and Matt Braunger . She has also performed at the 12th annual New York Arab-American Comedy Festival, Boston Women in Comedy Festival and Toronto’s Shedot Festival.
