After a busy few months of Browntasauras Records tour dates, iconic trumpet player Brownman Ali returns to Toronto's May Cafe, one of Ali's favourite venues in the city, in Dec bring his straight-ahead hard-swinging acoustic quartet -- featuring 26-year rising star pianist Nick Maclean on piano -- for some Christmas mirth. Expect to hear modern jazz interpretations of tunes like "Frosty the Snowman" (in Cuban style), "Jingle Bells" (in 7/8), "We Three Kings" (as a hip-hop tune), "Here Comes Santa Claus" (swinging hard) and much more holiday madness!
