It's been a minute....
When I first started this party, I really just wanted something that was fun, people could come enjoy themselves and each other and love reggae and dancehall, together. it was not about the latest dubplates or anything like that. which i love hearing at other parties. but that wasn't what i wanted to do.
i love reggae. i think a lot of people do. i know a lot of djs that love it too and although they may not normally be found spinning reggae or dancehall... they love it and are skilled and talented enough as djs, to be able to produce an incredible love soaked set. each one so different from the other but always keeping the party moving and the people happy and dancing all night.
Almost every dj that has guested for DUTTY has been one of my favourite djs in the city, or i have become a fan after i was put onto them; deejay NaNa, Son of S.O.U.L., Ken L Jones, General Eclectic, Jason Palma, Paul E Lopes, Soul Proprietor and K-Cut. whoa.
So with that history - now there is November with CHOPPA CHOP!!!
Now, he is actually a Reggae/Dancehall dj. This is his specialty....
Him and his team have been running sound systems, running a label and throwing parties all across the UK&Europe, Canada and New Mexico under the name "BIG Toe's HiFi" for the last 10 years+
The first time i met John Farrugia (aka Choppa Chop), he was spinning at one of his parties. after only a little while listening, i had to ask "okay, who is this guy for real"?
faaaantastic set.
i wanted to hear more and, better yet, do a party together... for mine and your sake!

i am so glad to have met him and i think you should meet him too.... while he's doing what he is reeeeeeeeeallly good at!!
