Powerhouses vocalist and thoughtful lyricist - Ladies and Gentlemen: meet Gyles. One cannot deny this hardworking dynamo as her talents have amassed an impressive array of industry accomplishments.

Gyles' vocals are behind the hook of Juno and Much Music Award winner Carlos Morgan's "Baby c'mon", featured on Groove Essentials Volume 1. Soon after, she provided background vocals for Juno award winner Jully Black and Juno nominee Camille Douglas. Having been noticed quickly for a singing style bathed with sparkly tenacity, Gyles was brought on board as lead vocalist for Toronto neo-soul band Jamesking. Two of her songs have been awarded second place at the 2008 and 2010 Radio Star National Songwriter's Competition. One of which, has been featured in the major motion picture: Shark City - starring Vivica A. Fox. Her live performances have garnered her headlining honors for the 2008 Montreal Funk Festival and opening in 2009 for Ivana Santilli during Canadian Music Week.

Gyles is now on the most exciting chapter of her musical journey: writing for her solo debut. Spring 2012 will see the launch of her debut single “On One Knee” - a perfect mix of old-school danceability, playful imagery and silky strong vocals that will surely capture fans who appreciate real music, both young & young at heart.

MIKE FIELD

Born and raised in Canada, jazz trumpeter and composer Mike Field is known for his bright, upbeat and energetic music. His latest album, Rush Mode, won five Aurora Awards, two Independent Music Video Awards (IMVAs) and was nominated for two Independent Music Awards (IMAs). He performs his compositions with local musicians at jazz festivals, societies and clubs in New Zealand, Australia, Europe, North America and Antarctica. Notable recent concerts include the Nelson Jazz Festival in New Zealand, the Grampians Jazz Festival in Australia, the Newmarket and Niagara-on-the-Lake Jazz Festivals in Canada, The Lighthouse Cafe in Los Angeles, SCAT Jazz Club in Madeira and Gregory's Jazz Club in Rome.

Mike writes his music either when he's traveling or when he's ensconced in Toronto’s urban lifestyle. His melodies are dynamic and exciting and since learning languages and traveling to all corners of the world has always been a part of Mike’s life, the titles of his songs often reflect movement and cultures – such as Missing in Paris, Streets of Santa Monica or the Latin-flavoured tune, El sótano. 

Mike began playing the trumpet at the age of 10 and studied privately with classical performers in the Toronto Symphony Orchestra. In 2001, he entered the Masters of Jazz Performance program at New York University and began composing upon returning to Toronto in 2003. By 2007, he was performing with several local jazz, reggae, funk and experimental bands, finally forming his own jazz quintet in 2009. He released his debut solo album, Ashes, in 2011 and Rush Mode two years later, along with his first professional video for the title track.
