WOH Hair Expo @ The Costume House, Toronto, ON - Sun July 29th!


WOH HAIR EXPO is a one day professional, hair, beauty and fashion industry event and has a mission to be the largest multicultural/multi-textural hair expo in Toronto.

We intend to have the hair and creative industry lovers discover the ground-breaking hair solutions trending around the world while maintaining and promoting healthy, natural hair.

This is an opportunity to interact with many upcoming hairstylists, barbers, models, fashion designers, makeup artist and hair educators, in a multicultural fun and loving space.

MUA, Hairstylist, Barbers and Fashion Designers come together to present "The Final Look"

Pop-up market will be available for ticket holders to shop for products, clothing, skin care, and services that deal with textural hair and protective styles.

Winnie Effects will be launching WOH HAIR EXPO with the objective to create meaningful connections with upcoming hair creators in the hair and beauty industry who want to push and redefine the hair industry.

We plan to execute the following:
8 look and learn demo booths,
Live hair/fashion runway,
Panelist discussion around hair, including hair loss and hair stereotypes,
Hair Unit Workshop w/ Celebrity Barber @mickeydabarber
Special Performances by special guest, including singing & poetry
Carnival Hair & Make up tutorials
Pop-up Market w/ many aiding product and services.
AND MUCH MORE!

There will be giveaways, complimentary champagne, special guests, and influencers who celebrate the beauty of textured hair.

We choose to have this event executed on Sunday, July 29th, being so close to Toronto Caribana Carnival on August 2nd, in order to provide over a million tourist, the opportunity to experience one of the many live events that make up Toronto’s Caribana Carnival weekend.

Carnival Hair After Party
We will be hosting an after party for all the hard working staff and for the attendees to enjoy themselves, network and mingle, while getting into carnival vibe from 11 pm to 3 am at a private location - If you are attending the expo, the after party is included in your $40 ticket, however for those who can't make the expo please feel free to buy your ticket in advance ($20) to attend.

BrAIDS for AIDS foundation is an organization to raise awareness of HIV/AIDS in African, Caribbean and Black Communities in Canada and internationally. BrAIDS for AIDS presents its 5th Annual BrAIDathon and Hair Styling Show in Toronto. This year we bring special guest, International Model and hairstylist and artist, Nikitha Cornwall

What is a BrAIDathon?

The BrAIDathon is an event where you get your hair done by professional
hair dressers.

Proceeds go to supporting the BrAIDS for AIDS Foundation and its programs across the GTA including a new entrepreneurship-focused hair dresser program for African, Caribbean and Black young women; our program with young men in the prison system; and our program focusing on combating violence against women.

Natural Hair Fete 2017 @ A Different Booklist, Toronto, ON - Sun Jun 11th!



Natural Hair Fete 2017, is an event where you can learn about caring for your Natural Hair, while being social in a beautiful space that is now the new location for A Different Booklist, located just South of Bathurst and Bloor.

There will be candid discussion on what it means to wear your hair in its natural fabulousness, during a time when it seems the way in which Black people wear their hair is always a point of discussion. There will also be many giveaways and vendors to shop from, and all while listening to the tunes spinning from DJ Steph Honey.
