On Sunday, May 15, 2016 at 2:00pm, the Toronto Revellers masquerade band, participants in the annual Toronto Caribbean Carnival, will be opening their costume production and showroom site to the public. The “Mas Camp” is located at 851 Milner Avenue (Morningside Avenue & 401) for the second year in a row, and will be open until Carnival Day on July 30th to manage costume orders, host community activities, and organize their carnival preparations.
The Grand Opening will feature early registration specials, giveaways, and musical entertainment.
This free community event is designed to welcome carnival participants into their new summer home, and encourage new visitors to join the Toronto Revellers in their carnival experience.
The Toronto Revellers’ costume theme for 2016, LOST: Secrets of the Amazon, will feature a range of costumes depicting the wildlife, themes, and beauty of the South American landscape. The organization will be led for its tenth year by Jamaal Magloire, Assistant Coach for the NBA’s Toronto Raptors, as well as and their Community Ambassador.
“We are excited to enter into our tenth year of participating in Toronto’s Caribbean Carnival,” said Magloire. “In view of our costumes and events for the 2016 season, we invite the entire Toronto community to join us in our special celebration.”
