The 8th Annual CaribbeanTales Toronto Film Showcase kicked off at the CNE with the Gems of the Caribbean screening series, produced in partnership with Islands of the Caribbean on August 17th.

Our final screening for the series highlight takes place on Fri Aug 30th. Make your CNE experience even better with FREE screenings of short films from the islands of St. Lucia and St. Vincent followed by a Panel Discussion with Caribbean Filmmakers.

Closing off the evening is the well acclaimed feature film HOME AGAIN by local filmmakers, David SUDZ Sutherland and Jennifer Holness.

6:00 PM: Gems of the Caribbean Film Screening (Presentation Theatre in the Direct Energy Centre, right next to the International Pavilion, behind the Saint Lucia kiosk)

7 p.m. Panel Discussion with Caribbean Filmmakers - Award-winning broadcaster, educator, writer and actor Dr Rita Shelton Deverell chairs this discussion with Caribbean and Diaspora filmmakers - How can the Caribbean define itself as a cinematic Brand distinct from Hollywood, Nollywood, Bollywood and other established industries. How can we compete in the global marketplace?

8 p.m. HOME AGAIN - Feature Film: Sudz Sutherland, Canada/T&T
