The Cavalcade of Lights at Nathan Phillips Square is an annual holiday tradition featuring the lighting of Toronto’s official Christmas Tree, live musical performances, a spectacular fireworks show and skating parties on the iconic outdoor rink. All free!

Since 2010 Tanika Charles has been lighting up stages near and far, releasing her critically acclaimed Polaris Prize-nominated debut LP, Soul Run. Backed by her band The Wonderfuls, Charles has played festivals like NXNE, Pop Montreal, CBC Music Fest, TD Toronto Jazz Fest, the AGO Massive Party, the Pan Am Games, and many more and has sang alongside the likes of Emmanuel Jal, Fred Penner, Donna Grantis, Johnny Reid, Bedouin Soundclash, and others.

JUNE 26TH: TANIKA CHARLES @ NATHAN PHILLIPS SQUARE

Following the recent release of her album Soul Run, Tanika Charles is running her way through the summer in a series of performances and appearances - starting with a live performance at the 2016 TD Jazz Festival.

Tanika will be performing as part of their Groove and Graffiti initiative, which will also highlight the works of Mediah and Elicser, two of Toronto’s top aerosol artists, and students from the Graffiti Club at Central Technical School, who will be creating a live aerosol art mural during her performance.
