Live on Stage: ROCK OF AGES @ Sony Centre for the Performing Arts, Toronto, ON - Tues Mar 19th - Sun Mar 24th!

Toronto Can’t Fight This Feelin’ Anymore!
ROCK OF AGES
Returns to Toronto March 19-24, 2013
at the Sony Centre For The Performing Arts

The Sony Centre For The Performing Arts is gearing up to host a wild musical party when fan-favourite, ROCK OF AGES, returns to Toronto for a limited run March 19-24, 2013.

ROCK OF AGES blew the roof off the Royal Alexandra Theatre during its near nine-month run in Toronto, earning rave reviews and the coveted Dora Awards People’s Choice Award. The show presents a hilarious, feel-good story about a small-town girl – it’s no spoiler she was living in a lonely world – who meets a big-city dreamer in L.A.’s most legendary rock club on Sunset Strip. Set in the 80s and told through the greatest songs of the big-hair era, the score features 28 classic rock jams including Journey’s “Don't Stop Believin'”, Whitesnake’s “Here I Go Again”, Bon Jovi’s “Wanted Dead or Alive”, REO Speedwagon’s “Can't Fight this Feeling”, Foreigner’s “I Want To Know What Love Is” plus more by Pat Benatar, Twisted Sister, Poison, Styx, and Night Ranger!

With five Tony Award® nominations under its studded belt, ROCK OF AGES has had audiences across the globe head banging with productions in Australia, London South Korea, and Las Vegas while continuing its three-plus year run on Broadway, and spawning a feature film with Tom Cruise!

ROCK OF AGES is directed by Tony Award® Nominee Kristin Hanggi (Bare, Pussycat Dolls on the Sunset Strip) and choreographed by Kelly Devine (Jersey Boys – Associate Choreographer), with a book by Chris D’Arienzo (writer and director of the film Barry Munday), original arrangements by David Gibbs (Counting Crows, Film: That Thing You Do) and the Music Supervision, Arrangements & Orchestrations by Ethan Popp (Tarzan; Europe: We Will Rock You, Mamma Mia).

SONY CENTRE FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS, Toronto’s first performing arts centre, has played a defining role in the cultural life of Toronto for more than 50 years. Today, the newly renovated Sony Centre’s mission is to unite the global citizens of Toronto through great artistic experiences. In addition, the Sony Centre is dedicated to developing Toronto’s younger audiences through family programming, workshops targeted towards school-aged audiences, an under-30 membership program, and other community initiatives.
