Celebrate the art of celebration with the Creole Carnival Tour. The show honors the roots of African musical currents crossed with a fusion of sounds from the Americas and revolving around Carnival, the pre-Lent festival celebrated globally that’s everyone's favorite excuse for a party. Each country has its own rich celebratory traditions, and this show spotlights Brazilian, Haitian and Trinidadian expressions with an eclectic, entertaining and engaging international trio of performers. Participating artists explore, expand and upend notions of Carnival without losing sight of where magic and religious fervor intersect with a madcap, no-holds-barred soiree: Haiti’s Emeline Michel is the reigning Queen of Haitian songs; Casuarina are Rio’s innovative samba masters, and Kobo Town.
