The Slakadeliqs Live @ Cafe Awtash, Toronto, ON - Fri May 11th!

A true artist is not defined by a single genre, but rather by the body of sounds he creates. Influenced by artists such as Lenny Kravitz, Neil Young, The Zombies, Jimmy Cliff and The Beatles, The Slakadeliqs is the result of Juno winning front man, Byram “Slakah the Beatchild” Joseph's efforts to create something truly unique, timeless and genreless; something vastly different from his previous body of work which was released on the legendary BBE label (Will.i.am, J-Dilla, Pete Rock).

The Slakadeliqs have beautifully balanced a mixture of genres ranging from the 60's right through to the other side of tomorrow and a stage show which captivates audiences from beginning to end! The 5-piece band packs an arsenal of cellos, vintage synths, acoustic guitars and glockenspiels. The Slakadeliqs exudes a perfect symmetry between humility and confident showmanship, taking audiences on a magical musical journey.

This magical musical experience is one many have continued to revisit with The Slakadeliqs’ debut album, The Other Side of Tomorrow. Released on January 17, 2012, the album climbed to the number one selling album position on bandcamp within 12 hours of its release. As it holds its ground as the number one selling Indie album on Bandcamp, The Other Side of Tomorrow continues to receive praise from artists such as Drake and DJ Jazzy Jeff calling it "...one of the best albums I've ever heard...", and rave reviews from media around the globe:

“Almost every track is a triumph of purebred songwriting. It isn’t exaggeration that I invoke Simon and Garfunkel. This is the real thing. (…) Indeed, the closest comparison I can draw is with some of Lenny Kravitz’ work from the 90′s. But that’s not quite right because this is better than anything Lenny Kravitz ever did, by far.”

“The Other Side Of Tomorrow is truly a four year culmination of Slakah’s musical genius. (…) Slakah has finally found a vessel to channel his immense and indescribable talent.”
