Legendary Jamaican jazz guitarist and ska music pioneer Ernest Ranglin will mark the release of his 31st solo album, Ernest Ranglin at Side Door Records, with a one-night-only concert on Thursday, July 9 at Toronto’s Lula Lounge. Ranglin will be joined on stage by a who’s who of Toronto’s jazz scene: Michael Arthurs; Shane “Shaky” Forrest; Bobby Hsu; Bill King; Dave West; Magdelys Sevigne; Rebecca Hennessy and Everton “Pablo” Paul, the album’s executive producer. Juno Award-winning reggae artist Dubmatix will open the show. One copy of the album will be included per concert ticket purchase.

The We Are One Jazz Project is dedicated to empowering youth through Jazz. Partnered with the TDSB and mentored by master musicians, we deliver a dynamic, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to students in a different 'priority' area of the GTA each year. This concert follows 4 months of intensive rehearsals.

We are proud to present our 6th annual concert featuring a 275 member children's choir from schools in North Etobicoke, an adult choir, a professional big band, string ensemble, with jazz legend Barry Harris and special guest soloist Don Thompson.
